The Spirituality of Aging

A Six Week Class

Thursdays, October 24 - November 21, 2024

12:00 - 1:30 at the Santa Cruz Downtown Library

This class is for anyone who is on the path of aging (which we all are!) and for those of you who are interested in reorienting yourself from Hero to Elder, from aging to Saging and to finding purpose and joy as you age. 

The call of later-life can awaken in you a yearning for something more, a longing to transcend a role, an identity, or a drive and connect instead with something larger. 

It can invite you to cross a threshold and trade the image of youth for the depth of age, trade distractions for self-knowledge, reactions for reflection, information and knowing for wisdom, and a tight grip for an open surrendered hand.

We will harvest the wisdom of your life and find ways to share that wisdom as your legacy to your future generations. We will do this together by empowering you to:

• Examine your attitudes and fears about aging and our culture’s stereotypes and learn to claim your right to promote and practice a new way of meeting your life.
• Connect to your inner wisdom through meditation and explore the teachings of psychology and spirituality as they apply to aging, including contemplation, journaling and spiritual sharing
• Learn to nurture and nourish yourself physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually.

My intention is the offer this as an ongoing group that will dive into:

• Expanding Your Elder Consciousnesses 
• Do A Life Review, 
• Explore what needs Life Repairs and Forgiveness 
• Practice Mortality Awareness 
• Create Your Legacy and 
• Discover the Gifts of your Emerging Elder.
